Anahuac outscores Kirbyville 69-59 in wild scoring affair
ANAHUAC– If you like a high-scoring football game, then Kyle White Stadium was the place for you to be last Friday night as the Anahuac Panthers opened district play against Kirbyville to take the 69-59 win over the Wildcats.
Anahuac picked up its first win of the season, but it was the most important one as the Panthers are now 1-0 in district play.
There were numerous offensive stars in this one as Anahuac rolled up 528 yards of total offense.
The running game finished with 330 yards. Jaytwan Dowdye led the way with 174 yards and three touchdowns.
Darius Richardson added 136 yards and two scores. Oscar Garza added 47 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Braydon Sutch passed for 198 yards and three touchdowns while adding a fourth on the ground. Sutch finished with nine completions on 11 attempts.
Dowdye caught three passes for 73 yards and a fourth touchdown. Dowdye finished with 247 yards of total offense.
Richardson added a 38-yard touchdown reception while Aiden King caught two passes for 35 yards and a score.
The Panthers will be back in action on Friday night as they travel to Orangefield.
