Anahuac Volleyball Loses to Buna
BUNA— Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Buna Cougars.
Unfortunately, that is the second time they have come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-12.
Brayli Van Vickle paced Anahuac's offense, picking up five kills. Van Vickle got some help from Sky Hedges and her seven assists.
Total team kills were 17; total team blocks were three; total team digs were 39.
There were long rallies that Anahuac won, but the inconsistency of play ultimately turned the tide Buna’s way.
The Lady Panthers have three seniors who will say goodbye to AHS volleyball next week. Callie Henicke, Maddison Willis and Avery Smith will be recognized Friday on Senior night.
Anahuac's defeat dropped their record down to 9-31. As for Buna, the victory got them back to even at 19-19.
Anahuac is set to face off against their familiar foe Hardin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
