Buccaneers blast Coldspring 54-6
WINNIE— The East Chambers Buccaneers caused four turnovers and rolled up 365 yards of total offense in routing the Coldspring Trojans 54-6 at home on Friday night at Buccaneer Stadium.
Quarterback JD Zurby finished with 189 yards passing and three touchdowns on 8 of 11 passing.
Leading 7-0 in the first quarter, Lake Hampton headed one way and then reversed the field and went the other way, bounced off a couple of Coldspring defenders for a nifty 18-yard touchdown run to make it 14-0.
The Buccaneers added a couple of more touchdowns in the second quarter, leading 28-6 at the half.
Koby Jones led the ground game with 78 yards on the ground and a touchdown, while Jessie Moore added 45 yards and a score. Zurby added 37 yards on the ground and a score.
Bryce Guillory added an interception for the Buccaneers.
East Chambers is now 6-1 on the season and 3-1 in district play. The Buccaneers will travel to Kirbyville on Friday night.
