Westwood outscores EC 49-42 in Bi-District

NAVASOTA— It was a shootout on Friday night at Rattler Stadium in Navasota as East Chambers fell just short in their bi-district contest with Palestine Westwood, 49-42.

The Buccaneers' season ends at 7-3 despite finishing the game with 437 yards of total offense.

The game was tied at 7-7 after the opening quarter, and then a wild second quarter saw 34 points combined by both teams, as the Panthers led 28-20 at halftime.

 Westwood led 35-27 entering the fourth and final quarter.

East Chambers finished the game with 355 yards rushing, with Luke Hampton accounting for 107 yards on just four carries and two touchdowns.

JD Zurby added 97 yards rushing and a score, while Koby Jones finished with 88 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Kicker Adan Garcia had two field goals and was perfect on four PATs.

On the defensive side of the ball, Earius Ceasar had an interception, and Tanner Salazar had eight tackles.
