Anahuac and EC football standouts named All-District
ANAHUAC– The Hardin Hornets dominated things in District 10-3A-I this season, but the Anahuac Panthers and East Chambers Buccaneers each took home one of the top awards, and several players were named to the first and second teams.
The District's MVP Award went to Trevor Jones of Hardin, while teammate Javion Watley and Orangefield's Mason Manning captured the Co-Offensive MVP Award.
The Defensive MVP was Kaleb Menard of Orangefield.
The Coach of the Year went to Chad Taylor of Hardin, while Anahuac's Jaytwan Dowdye was named Offensive Newcomer of the Year, and East Chambers freshman Rashard Hale was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
Named to the first team for Anahuac were running backs Oscar Garza and Darius Richardson and tight end Aiden King. The Buccaneers saw quarterback JD Zurby, running back Koby Jones and wide receiver Colby West.
Landing on the first team defense for the Panthers are linebacker Justin Netterville and safety King Charles. East Chambers had linebackers Aiden Baker and Reid Todd and safety Bryce Guillory.
The second team members at Anahuac are Adrian Torres, Darius Richardson, and Kaden Campbell. The Buccaneers saw Darius Edmonson, Eloy Lopez, Ty Ardoin, Adan Garcia for both kicker and punter, Gradyn Oliver, Dalton Dishman and Luke Hampton.
The Panthers head coach is Greg Neece, while Head Coach Russ Sutherland leads East Chambers.
