WINNIE– The East Chambers Buccaneers were in district action last, and they came away with a split in the action.

The Buccaneers started off the week with a nice 63-41 victory over the Warren Warriors on the road.

East Chambers then came home for a huge district matchup with Orangefield on Friday night, as the two state-ranked teams duked it out.

The Bobcats used a big first and third period to beat the Buccaneers 84-64.

Orangefield came out in the opening quarter and grabbed a 24-15 lead after the first quarter.

The second period was pretty even as the Bobcats outscored East Chambers 19-18 to lead 43-33 at the half.

The third period saw Orangefield build its lead to 66-49 heading into the final eight minutes of play.

The Bobcats won the fourth frame 18-15 to get the win.

East Chambers still has a fine record of 18-4 on the season and 2-1 in district action. The Buccaneers will host the Kountze Lions on Friday night.
