As Liberty County grows and current infrastructure ages, there will be a constant battle between funding and time to see the necessary improvements made across the board, leaving some roads and drainage systems in poor shape. In recent years, one such area that has become a problem spot is some aging culverts that crossed under CR 602 right around CR 612 in the Eastgate area. Now thanks to the Liberty County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1, that area has undergone a significant transformation that should bring great improvements to not only the structure but the safety of those traveling the area for years to come.

AUSTIN, TX - State Representative Ernest Bailes and the Texas Legislature prepare to begin a third special session on Monday, September 20, 2021.
Officials from the City of Plum Grove held a discussion with Texas State Senator Robert Nichols and TX- DOT District Engineer Chad Bohne via a Zoom call on Monday night about the possibilities of converting Plum Grove Road over to a farm to market roadway and relinquishing control of that badly damaged roadway to the state of Texas in the process. Council will be considering a resolution to support the measure in the coming weeks, possibly joining Liberty County in an earlier resolution in support of the project.

The City of Cleveland approved an engineer for the Train Depot project that will see the existing structure moved from its current site behind Austin Bank off E.
