DAYTON - Ten high schools participated in the Annual Bronco Relays last Thursday at Houston Methodist Field at Bronco Stadium. On the boys side, Barbers Hill took first place, with Liberty finishing in third. Dayton was in fifth place. The girls saw Barbers Hill first, with Liberty in 8th place and Dayton finishing 9th.

ANAHUAC - Errors proved too costly on Friday evening for the Hardin Lady Hornets as the Lady Panthers runs were all unearned on a 7-1 victory over Hardin in district play.

ANAHUAC- There is a difference for the Hardin baseball team this year: the return of Hornets Head Coach Heath Pavliska. On Friday night in Anahuac in a battle of 2-0 teams in district, Pavliska and his Hardin squad got that first signature win of the season by coming back from a 2-0 deficit to knock off the Panthers 3-2 to stay undefeated in district play.

KINGWOOD - For the second consecutive week, it was the Brookelyn Taylor show, as the sophomore hurler for Liberty pitched a no-hitter and struck out 14 Kingwood Park hitters to lead the Lady Panthers to a 5-0 win over the Lady Panthers. Taylor didn’t just do it on the mound; she finished with two hits and four RBIs at the plate.

LIBERTY - Madyson Goudeau has enjoyed a very nice four-year career playing on the Lady Panthers varsity team. The senior capped everything off by being named the 20-4A Offensive Player of the Year. Last year as a junior, Goudeau surpassed the 1,000-career point total while playing for Liberty.
