Read moreOn a positive note, the Cleveland Indians put an end to the 2021 football season on Friday night at Buddy Morehead Stadium with a 38- 21 win over the Caney Creek Panthers. The win gave Cleveland a 3-7 record on the season and 2-6 in district play. The Indians got on the scoreboard first in the opening quarter with a Tyler Spencer to Devonte Robertson 6-yard touchdown pass. A 53-yard run set up the score by Chris Duncantel. The two-point conversion was good, and Cleveland led 8-0. Caney Creek scored late in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 8-6. The Indians built to their lead in the second quarter when Robertson scored on a 63-yard run. Tyric Cannon had an 18-yard touchdown run straight up the middle in the third quarter, while Jameer Martin also had a touchdown run for Cleveland. Robertson finished off his big night with 113-yards rushing on just 10-carries with two touchdowns. Robertson also caught two passes for 34-yards and a third score. Duncantel rushed for 98-yards on eight carries while Spencer added 47-yards on the ground. Cannon added 26-yards and one score. The Indians finished the game with 339-yards rushing on the ground. Robertson led the defense with 11 tackles, and Johnny Hines added 8.
