Read moreThe Liberty Lady Panthers traveled to Vidor on Thursday night for a 4-A Region III soccer Bi-district Championship against the Lady Pirates and gave it everything they had before falling 4-0 to Vidor at Pirate Stadium. Liberty had a couple of good looks early on as Amy Bennett made a nice pass to Celeste Grana, whose shot-on-goal just missed in the 10th minute. In the 21st minute, the Lady Panthers had another good look as Bennett and Mireya Lopez both took shots at goal. Three minutes later, the Lady Pirates ended the scoreless drought with Brooklyn Healy finding the nets to make it a 1-0 lead. Liberty’s Kennedy Evans then took a nice run and took a shot-on-goal in the 29th minute but could not find the mark. Vidor then made it a 2-0 advantage in the 33rd minute, with Kendra Long finding the nets for a score. The Lady Pirates started the second half being aggressive and it paid off as they put the game away with goals in the 44th and 49th minute to increase their lead to 4-0. Evans had one more chance in the 72nd minute, but the senior just missed her mark. The Lady Panthers season comes to an end, but it was another successful season under Head Coach Liam Farrington in making it to the playoffs.
