She is a heck of a volleyball player at Liberty, but Katrina Tran showed she’s got some game in basketball on Friday night at home as she led the Lady Panthers to a 43-40 non-district win over Evadale Lady Rebels.

On Friday evening at Memorial Stadium, it was the past Panthers that would prevail by outscoring the varsity by a goal in the second half to capture a 3-2 win in a scrimmage of sorts. Both teams played 30-minute half's and then both sides took part in penalty kicks in which the younger Panthers came out on top 5-4. Both teams scored a goal in the first half of play, and the young Panthers saw Bryan Montes score in the 15th minute for a 1-0 advantage. The Alumni tied the score at 1-apiece with a make in the 25th minute. Tied at the half, the Alumni got a pair of goals in the second half to come out on top 3-2. Abdiel Garcia got the goal for the varsity in the second half.
