WALLISVILLE— Continuing the History and Then Some lecture series, the Chambers County Museum at Wallisville will welcome Justice Ken Wise to speak about the Anahuac Disturbances.

On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Wise, 14th Circuit Court of Appeals in Houston, will present “The Anahuac Disturbance,” discussing the major events that sparked the Texas Revolution.

“He is just an amazing historian,” Hughes said previously.

Wise is a part-time professor at Houston Baptist University and a former part-time professor at the University of Houston Law Center.

He is the creator and host of the award-winning Texas history podcast, “Wise About Texas,” and has published multiple articles. He is also a regular speaker on Texas history, presenting across the state.

In 2021, Wise was honored by the Texas House of Representatives for his contributions in preserving Texas history.

Admission is free, but seating is limited; therefore, the museum requests that interested parties make a reservation. For more information on the presentation or to make a reservation, call the museum at 409-389-2252.

In other news, the museum has recently opened its “Seafood Industry” exhibit, featuring local families and a glimpse into the history behind the industry.

The museum is open from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is at 20136 Interstate 10 E., Wallisville.
