The Liberty Lady Panthers got a chance to celebrate their 2022 UIL State Softball Championship with family and friends last Tuesday evening at the Pavilion by City Hall in downtown Liberty.

The 2022 title was the Lady Panthers second in a row and their third in the last four seasons. Remember in 2020 that Covid put an end to the softball season early.

Liberty Mayor Carl Pickett said it best in challenging the Lady Panthers to a third straight State Championship.

Pickett also read a proclamation making July 19, 2022, Liberty Lady Panthers State Class 4A Championship Day.

Liberty finished the season 38-6.

Will Carter, with U.S. Rep. Brian Babin's office, presented the team with a letter of special recognition for their achievement and a flag that was flown over the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. District 18 State Rep. Ernest Bailes presented a resolution from the State of Texas and House District 18.

The Lady Panthers will lose Kylie Bishop, Kendall Daniel, Maci Beam, and Reagan Williamson to graduation. Still, they will return some key pieces for 2023 and again be a favorite to return to Austin.

After all the presentations and announcing of all the players and coaches, the Lady Panthers signed autographs and took pictures.

Free Hamburgers were also prepared and provided for by Liberty National Bank.
