The Vindicator | Casey Stinnett — A dozen or more insect enthusiasts turned out Saturday night to see what could be seen among the critters attracted to the mercury vapor light outside of the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge headquarters.

The Vindicator | Casey Stinnett — This moth was spotted by Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge Manager Stuart Marcus Saturday night and adds one more to the nearly 1,000 moth species he has identified at the Refuge.

The Vindicator | Casey Stinnett — Stuart Marcus, second from left, hosted Saturday night's event at the Refuge headquarters. He is retiring at the end of the month after 40 years in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
