KPRC 2 and Texas Mattress Makers are surprising 20 deserving high school seniors with scholarships. All students selected for scholarships have been nominated by their high schools.Elijah Ellison, Dayton High School’s 2020-2021 Valedictorian, is one of the newest winners.
This academic year was particularly challenging because of the pandemic, but Elijah still rose above and beyond in school. Elijah has been attending classes in person and has been able to maintain a 5.5 GPA. He is ranked first in his class which is an extraordinary achievement.
He is also Captain of Varsity Cross Country Team, worship leader at Crosby Church where he is lead vocals, plays guitar, and the piano. Elijah is also a student leader over the middle school program at Crosby Church. And, he is the Youth for Christ Leader at Dayton High School.
Elijah has been accepted into the Texas A&M Engineering Honors Program and plans to major in mechanical engineering. Elijah’s family and the Dayton community are extremely proud of his accomplishments, and his integrity as an honor student and well-rounded person in general. Congratulations, Elijah Ellison, your future is bright.
