AHS senior gains life skills

ANAHUAC— Leah Borne, Anahuac High School senior, is gaining plenty of knowledge on vehicle maintenance through the Anahuac Municipal Development District’s Summer Job Training Program.
While working at Four Corner Tires and Oil, Borne learned how to lift a vehicle with a jack, changing and balancing tires, use of common tools and general knowledge on maintenance.
At AHS, Borne is involved in the National Honor Society, student council, UIL and regularly volunteers in the community.
Borne plans to attend college after graduation, and in her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing games with her friends.
This year, nine students are participating in the program, either part-time or full-time, to increase their odds of starting their careers early on.
