EC stays undefeated after 30-10 win at Liberty

LIBERTY– The East Chambers Buccaneers will head into their bye week with a perfect 3-0 mark on the season after defeating the Liberty Panthers 30-10 on Friday night at Memorial Stadium in a 3A vs 4A match-up.

Liberty jumped out in front first and led 10-7 after a quarter of play.

East Chambers scored a touchdown in the second quarter, along with an Adan Garcia 37-yard field goal, to lead 16-10 at the half.

The Buccaneers did all the scoring in the second half with a touchdown in the third and fourth quarters to get the 30-10 win.

JD Zurby passed for 92 yards and two touchdowns while adding another 58 on the ground.

Freshman Rashard Hale led the ground attack with 104 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Hale also added a 22-yard touchdown reception while Colby West caught two passes for 31 yards and a score.

Reid Todd led the defense with 11 tackles and a sack, while Hale had a 33-yard interception return.

East Chambers will have a bye week and then return to action on Sept. 26 at Buna.
