Sutherland notches career win No. 200 at Buna

BUNA— The East Chambers Buccaneers put up a couple of early touchdowns in the first quarter on Friday night in Buna and then had to hold on in the fourth quarter to pull out a 21-14 victory over the Cougars in district action. 

The Buccaneers are now 4-0 in the season and 1-0 in district play.  The win was No. 200 in the fine career for East Chambers Head Coach Russ Sutherland.  

The Buccaneers will host undefeated Hardin on Thursday night in a big district matchup.  

Freshman Rashard Hale finished with 91 yards rushing on 15 carries, while Darius Edmonson added 28 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. 

 Quarterback JD Zurby finished 11 of 24 passing for 91 yards and a score. Ethan West caught three passes for 18 yards and a touchdown.  

Dalton Dishman and Luke Hampton led the defense with 11 tackles each.
