East Chambers sweeps CC titles
ANAHUAC— The East Chambers Buccaneers boys and girls cross country teams each picked up a District 22-3A Championship last Wednesday morning in Anahuac at Whites Park.
The boys were led by Augustin Granados, who finished second.
Jose Rufino finished in sixth place while teammate Christian Moreno was in eighth place. Anahuac's Richard Ramirez was in 10th place.
Xavi Marinez was in 11th for the Bucs. At the same time, the Panthers' Kennedy Mayer was in 16th place.
Drew Frederick and Candido Rodriguez crossed in 17th and 20th place, respectively, for East Chambers and Anahuac's Fernando Figeroa was 18th.
The East Chambers Lady Buccaneers had a dominant performance, recording five top-10 finishes.
Karen Hernandez was in second place, while Kalyssa Fontenot crossed in fourth place, and Giselle Santana was fifth. Parker Williams crossed in 6th place and Mikeala Quave was in 10th place.
The Lady Panthers were led by Kasey Galindo Morales and her 15th-place finish.
Callie Henicke was in 16th place, and teammates Taylor Trainer and Mykala Hightower were in 19th and 20th place.
