ANAHUAC– First elected in 2014, Nikki Whittington has served in the office of Chambers County, and she is again seeking another term in that office.

Whittington has over three decades of service to the community, moving through the ranks at the treasurer's office before eventually ascending to her elected post.

"I am excited to announce that I am seeking reelection as your Chambers County Treasurer. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Chambers County since September 2013," said Whittington in a campaign announcement.

She is touting her record and commitment to maintaining the necessary knowledge and skills to manage day-to-day office operations.

"In this position, I have consistently upheld my financial responsibilities, which includes receiving and disbursing all county funds, accounts payable, financial verification and all other functions of the Treasurer's Office," said Whittington.

Whittington says she is committed and ready to continue her work, praising her team, which includes Connie Lopez, Anita Simon and Kelley Jenkins, and their dedication.

"Together we will continue to move the Treasurer's Office forward," Whittington said.

Serving the community is a top priority for the Republican, especially the community in which she grew up, having graduated from Anahuac Independent School District. She attends church, participates in community events, and, above all, loves spending time with her family, according to a campaign release.

The three-term candidate highlights her leadership, integrity, work ethic, and dedication to the job as reasons to reelect her for another term.

"I've established great relationships and partnerships that are beneficial to the department. I'm a team player, trustworthy, and committed to upholding all duties of the County Treasurer," she said.

Primary day is set for Tuesday, March 6, 2026.
