Read moreThe Tarkington Lady Horns took advantage of some early New Waverly errors to jump out to an early lead and then scored two runs in the fifth inning to move back for good to take a 6-4 win over the Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday night in New Waverly. Tarkington led 4-1 after an inning and a half and then saw the Lady Bulldogs score a run in the bottom of the second and then two more in the third inning to tie the score at 4-apiece. The Lady Horns then took the lead for good in the fifth with a couple of runs. Savannah Boyd singled and then Morgan Rice reached on an error which allowed Boyd to take third with Rice taking second base. Ragan Tyler then bunted into a fielder’s choice and both Boyd and Rice scored to give Tarkington the lead at 6-4. Brianna Boddie and Jersee Moore each had two hits apiece to lead the hitting attack. Boyd got the win on the mound and finished with four strikeouts. The Lady Horns will visit Onalaska on Friday night to close out the regular season.
