The Dayton Lady Broncos pounded out 11 hits on Friday evening and notched another win at the Crosby ISD Tournament against Splendora 12-3. Fabianna Candelari and Dimika Anthony-Conner started the bottom of the first inning with singles, and then Kloee Wells hit a sacrifice fly to score Candelari to make it 1-0. Anevay Cantu cruised through the first two innings before the Lady Wildcats put up three runs in the top of the third inning to take the lead 3-1. The Lady Broncos quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning with four runs. Lexi Matlock and Candelari started things off with walks, and then Anthony-Conner reached on a catcher’s interference to load the bases. Emma Pierce then followed with a tworun single to tie the score at 3-apiece. After Anthony-Conner scored on a wild pitch to give Dayton the lead again at 4-3, Itzel Gonzalez lined a single to plate Pierce, and the advantage was 5-3. The Lady Broncos scored two more in the fourth frame as Matlock singled and scored on an error, and later on, it was Wells doubling home Pierce to make it 7-3. Dayton scored five more in the fifth as Candelari had an RBI single and Brandyce Best scored two more with a single, and then Wells had another RBI single to close out the scoring. Candelari, Wells, and Matlock all had two hits apiece. Wells finished with three RBI’s. The Lady Broncos finished the tournament with four wins and two ties.
