The Nederland Lady Bulldogs scored three goals in the first half and then the Liberty Lady Panthers defense clamped down on them in the second half and only allowed a goal in a 4-0 loss on Tuesday evening at Memorial Stadium. Nederland jumped out 1-0 on the 7th minute on a goal and then added another one at the 18th minute to lead 2-0. The Lady Bulldogs then made it a 3-o game when they found the nets again in the 22nd minute. The score stayed the same until Nederland put in a goal late in the second half for the 4-0 win. Lali Garcia, Kennedy Evans, and Alondra Rodriguez all led the way for Liberty.
Read moreFor three quarters on Friday night in Splendora, things were looking good for the Liberty Lady Panthers, but Liberty picked a bad time to go cold, and a couple of crucial turnovers down the stretch carried the Lady Cats to a 49-45 victory in district play. Down 6-3 early on, Madyson Goudeau connected from downtown to tie the score at 6-apiece. Splendora then responded with a 6-o run to move back ahead 12-6 until Olivia Moore nailed a three-pointer to make it 12-9. Just before the end of the opening quarter, the Panthers moved ahead, with Moore scoring on a drive. Goudeau gave Liberty a 25-22 advantage late in the first half by scoring on a drive to the bucket. The Lady Panthers would lead 27-24 at the half. Goudeau then caught fire in the third quarter as her two straight three-pointers gave Liberty a 33-24 lead. A couple of minutes later, it was Goudeau connecting again from downtown, and the advantage was in double digits at 38-28. Leading 41-33 heading into the final quarter, the Lady Panthers scored only four points the rest of the way. The final Liberty score came on a Moore three-point play to make it a 45-38 score with 2:24 remaining. Splendora then closed the game by scoring the last n-points of the night to get the win. Goudeau scored 16 points to lead the Lady Panthers in scoring while Moore finished with 9. Cheyenne Williams and Drelyn Willis each chipped in with 6 points. Liberty will have a bye on Friday and return to action on January 19 at home against Livingston.

Maddy Fregia and Emmah Hebert made some big three-pointers in the fourth quarter, and Reese Parker hit a big shot in the final minute to put the game away. Post players Haven Crump, Fayth Adams, Alissa Aragonez, and Lindsey Tinney all did a good job controlling the boards. Madison Boston and Georgia Vance played solid defense and created several turnovers for Hardin. The Lady Hornets will travel to Coldspring on Friday night.

The Bears grabbed a 12-5 lead after the first eight minutes of play and then increased their advantage to 21-11 at the half. Chloe Sellers scored all six of her points in the third quarter, and Hull-Daisetta put together their best quarter of the night and cut the LC-M lead to 28-22 heading into the fourth quarter of play. The Lady Bears won the fourth quarter 16-9 to grab the 13-point win. Kaylei Armstrong scored 10 of her team-high 18 points in the first half. Kaidyn Smith added 4 points for the Lady Cats. Evadale will come to town on Friday night.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 19-7 lead after the first quarter and then pushed the advantage to 39-16 at the break. New Waverly put the game out of reach in the third period with a 19-10 showing to lead 58-26 after three quarters. Carson Williams led Hardin with ii points and 9 rebounds while Caden Elmore and Logan Parker each added 4 points apiece. Taylor Landon had five assists. The Hornets will host Coldspring on Friday night.

The Fighting Owls led 15-14 after a quarter of play before Tarkington came back to win the second quarter 12-8 and led 26-23 at the half. A low third quarter saw Anderson-Shiro win 8-7 to cut the deficit to 33-31 heading into the fourth quarter. The Longhorns then enjoyed a nice fourth quarter in which they outscored the Fighting Owls 18-10 to put the game away. Colby Morris and Bryce Ellington each added 7-points apiece and Carlos Preciado led the rebounding with 7. Tarkington will travel to Trinity on Friday night.
