The Dayton Broncos baseball team picked up a couple of big district wins over Caney Creek last week. We will start with Dayton’s 7-1 win over the Panthers last Tuesday night at home.

The most significant announcement was senior Diego Cruz, who was named to the Academic All-State Team by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches and Officials (TASCO). Making the first-team all-district was juniors Angel Aguiar and Ismael Navarro. Landing on the second team is junior Nick Kopecky and senior Jorge Sifuentes. Honorable Mention picks for Dayton was sophomore Hernando Andrade, senior Francisco Gonzalez and junior Gustavo Orozco. Cruz was also named to the Academic All-District Team. Head Coach Jed Garner leads the Broncos.
