Dayton scores late to topple Baytown Lee 1-0

In a game that featured a lot of heavy transitions and good scoring chances by both teams, it was a goal by Enrique Garcia with about 10 minutes left that proved to be the only goal of the game and all Dayton would need in a 1-0 win over Baytown Lee on Tuesday night afternoon at Sultis Stadium. The goal was set up as Angel Aguiar sent a corker-kick into the penalty area that midfielder Brian Reyes was able to head back into the goalmouth for Garcia to hammer it home for the game-winner. Goalkeepers Esteban Vega and Thomas Jones both played well at goalie, with each making key saves to combine for the clean sheet. Senior defenders Victor Mancilla and Garcia both had strong games in defense. The Broncos are now 3-1 on the season and will travel regional powerhouse #3 Friendswood on January 2nd for a 6:30 start at Henry Winston Stadium.

Aparicio delivers game winner in 77th minute to lead Dayton in 4-3 win over Huffman

Things got more exciting than Dayton Head Coach Jed Garner asked for on Tuesday night against Huffman, but in the end it was a Anner Aparicio goal in the 77th minute with an assist from David Perez proved to be the game winner in a 4-3 win over the Falcons at Houston Methodist Field at Bronco Stadium in non-district soccer action. Huffman jumped in front in the first half to grab a 1-0 lead before Dayton came back with three straight goals to move ahead 3-1 at the break. Francisco Sanchez tied the score at 1-apiece and then Perez added two goals just before the half ended. The Falcons cut the Bronco lead in half at the 59th minute to make it a 3-2 game and then a minute later it was Alex is Rodriguez scoring on a penalty kick and the game was knotted at 3. Dayton had a nice chance at the 71st minute as a header by Bryan Martinez was just wide. Six minutes later, Aparicio would not miss for the winner. Martinez finished with two assists.
