Body Found

At approximately lo:3oam Sunday, a fisherman hunting for a place to fish along a tributary that leads into the Trinity River near Private Road 442 in south Liberty County found the body of a white male lying on the bank of a wooded area near this small body of water and behind a private residence. This area was beyond the search perimeter covered by Texas EquuSearch on their search of Friday, January 15th in an attempt to find 22-year-old Nathan Heathco who had been reported missing since his car crash on Hwy.1409 earlier in the week.

Adelene Graves Stevens, 96, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. She was born on May 9, 1924 in Dayton, Texas, to William F. Graves and Rena Nottingham Graves. Adelene was very involved in the Dayton community throughout her life. She joined the First Baptist Church of Dayton in 1937. She was a Charter Member and former President of Lambda Alpha Sigma, member and Treasurer of Dayton Historical Society, member and former Secretary for both The Friends of the Library and Magnolia Park Cemetery Alliance. She retired as Vice President for Dayton State Bank after working for 25 years.
